Quick? Maybe I choose hard classes (Wizard and Bard), but I was totally bored by the SLOW ASS EXP GAIN. That's the biggest flaw of DnD for me - no exp for monsters, only for quests which you have to repeat over and over.

Those are both difficult solo characters, yes, but you don't have to repeat Quests (there's more than enough that you can do each once and get to max level, you only do them on harder difficulties if you want better items/Favor/partying with more people really), and the XP gain is only truly slow because it was your first time. :P

It's like leveling your first character in GW, it goes pretty slow at first but then you learn all the shortcuts and how to be a lot more efficient about it.

Yeah, but to learn all the shortcuts in GW, I didn't have to pay $15 a month to play a single-player game. Because DnD is slower than Neverwinter Nights and I might as well be playing it.

Yes, I will try to play it again, as I do like the system, combat and so on (and I might try the DX10 graphics), if only I remember if I had an US or EU account. I think that US, I might download it for free then.

I remember playing the beta of D&D online ages ago. It was fun for a bit. Does anyone here have an account already? If so, what do you think of it?

Understandable on the P2P aspect, although I disagree that this is a single player game.

While you can solo the earlier levels (and now they have henchmen like GW to help that), it is impossible to solo the later levels and you are forced to group, just like in DnD. This is easily one of the most group focused games there is, although DDO has the best PUGing I've experienced too. People were all nice, admitted their mistakes (and fixed them), asked for help if they hadn't done an area before, and were all quite simply competent.

They've improved it vastly not only in content but it has better stability, a better tutorial, improved soloing for the lower levels (more solo quests + hirelings to help you get to the group content), and for people who don't know D&D they even have Paths that help you create a decent character now too. I think if you liked the beta, you'll definitely love it, Turbine has improved the game in just about every area since then.

I got soooo exited when I read the thread title, then got dismayed after realising it is US only.

DDO has to be the least worthwhile MMO to be paying a fee for, though it would be nice to be able to log back in and play my cleric who has an uber nice +5 Mithril small shield.

I were trying and trying to get a +5 Mithril large shield, but then my free time ran out, so ...

There's no IP block, so you can play there. Tons of foreign people already do.

I'm definitely intrigued. Awhile after Necrid told me about the setting (in Eberron) I played a campaign of it much farther down the road and it kicked ass. Totally gonna try it out.

I might re installe it, its not a bad mmo, but definatly not worth 15$ per month.
the best thing in this is the loot, finding those chest and hopping for a good drop.
Or playing some of the variation: perma death/roleplaying/dungeon crawling
instead of the average run to the dungeon things.

the only thing I did't like about the game is that it felt so small
